Madhushree did her entry with her group titled “Madhushree & De Band”. It is 5-member band with Gopal Dutta on drums, Proshanto on base guitar, Bob on keyboards, Vickey on percussions and Aparnit on guitar.
Today Big Fm was celebrating the 106 hour Vj Marathon of Rohit, who did a non stop program in the radio for a very good purpose.” Let’s have an eco friendly Ganpati”

Lagi Lagan Album not available anywhere online?????
What surprises me is that, there is no availability of the album anywhere online. Thats a good thing actually, but then again, not even sites like MusicIndiaOnline of Raaga has the songs for people to listen to them online. Its such a miss that millions outside India wont be able to listen to the songs b4 purchasing them.
Ive seen many people r googling for "Madhushree's Lagi Lagan songs" and im sure there is no result out.
Guys, when any sites online that offers the songs, that is to LISTEN ONLINE ONLY, i will post it here.
I wont post ANY mp3s of the album here, as we need to support budding artist like Madhushree. Its a whole different case when it comes to household names like A.R.Rahman becoz no matter even if his songs r released in 320kbps online, people will still line up outside the audio shop to grab 1 copy for them self.

Speaking about the Music Madhushree said, "We wanted to do something different with Lagi Lagan. Thumri is a style which in present day is not understood by everyone. We wanted to present Thumri in a way that is understood by all kinds of audiences. We have used notes from world music such as jazz, latino & western classical music. The trend today is that everyone wants to do something different, and this trend was set by A.R Rahman and I am honored to have had an opportunity to work with him. I am sure his presence at the music launch of my first album is a blessing in itself."

Big Music and Crossword Bookstore released Lagi Lagan, a debut album by Madhushree at a Mumbai suburban outlet. The singer has sung hits like Maahi ve (Kal Ho Naa Ho), Inn lamhon ke daaman mein (Jodhaa Akbar), Hum hain iss pal yahaan (Kisna), Tu bin bataaye (Rang De Basanti) and Kabhi neem neem (Yuva) among others after her debut in Moksha (2001) under Rajesh Roshan.

The Vinay- Bhavana- Lekha starrer Jayam Kondan, directed by debutant R.Kannan and produced by Sathyajothi Thyagarajan is ready for release by the end of the month.
It is a love story set against the Madurai backdrop between an NRI played by Vinay and a local girl Bhavana who is a volleyball champion. Lekha Washington plays Vinay's sister in a pivotal role.
The film has music by Vidyasagar, and a duet in the film Naan Varaindhu Vaitha…. has become popular. The film is likely to release on August 29.

It was a big day for Madhushree, when A.R.Rahman released her album " Lagi Lagan" in Chennai in his studio, The A.M.STUDIO.

It was a big day for Madhushree, when A.R.Rahman released her album " Lagi Lagan" in Chennai in his studio, The A.M.STUDIO.
When things do not happen as planned, than you always feel bad about it, but for Madhushree it became a much better happening, because apart from A.R there were other heavy weights at launch of the album.
The director who approved Madhushree to sing "Kabhi Neem Neem" in Yuva, Mr.Mani Ratnam.Gulzar saheb, who wrote so many beatiful lyrics, Shaan the craze of the youth and the last but not at least, Mr Abbas Tyerwalla, who,s film JAANE TU... ya jaane na... is still running.
This was a better release than planned in Mumbai!!!!

MUMBAI: BIG Music, India's leading Music and Home Entertainment Company and Crossword - India's leading lifestyle bookstore today announced the release of 'Lagi Lagan' a debut album by Madhushree. Madhusree's live performance at the bookstore's Nirmal Lifestyle outlet was the highlight of the evening.
After creating ripples in the world of Hindi film music, with hits like, 'Mahi Ve', 'In Lamhon Ke Saaye Mein', 'Hum Hai Is Pal Yahan', 'Pal Pal, Tu Bin Bataye ' and 'Kabhi Neem Neem' Madhushree is all set to rule the music charts with the launch of her debut album - Lagi Lagan. The album is a fusion of modern and classical music.
Excited about the launch of her first music album Madhusree expressed, "I have worked on this album for more than a year, and have put my heart and soul into it. I am happy that my fans and the music aficionados will be able to hear it now. I am really grateful to Big Music for this."
'Lagi Lagan' illustrates a tale of untold emotions of love through an embellishment of nine romantic and smooth tracks composed by her talented husband and music composer Robby Badal. Adding value to the compositions of Robby include Dilshad on Srangi, Shyam Raj on the Saxophone and Aditya Pushkarana on keyboards.
Speaking about the Music Madhushree said, "We wanted to do something different with Lagi Lagan. Thumri is a style which in present day is not understood by everyone. We wanted to present Thumri in a way that is understood by all kinds of audiences. We have used notes from world music such as jazz, latino & western classical music. The trend today is that everyone wants to do something different, and this trend was set by A.R Rahman and I am honored to have had an opportunity to work with him. I am sure his presence at the music launch of my first album is a blessing in itself."

The musical style in the album is eclectic with world music genres like Latino, jazz, and western classical used liberally to decorate the traditional Indian melody. The mood in the album is romantic, largely tender and covers all emotion associated with love. This album showcases "Thumri" in the original singing form couched in contemporary style.
Each track of the album has been crafted with elegance and stands out for its uniqueness of style, both vocal and compositional. Rekindling the glorious tradition of the Thumri, by giving it a renewed popular appeal that stretches its audience-appeal is also one of the noble attempts behind the making of the album.
The songs include the evergreen "Aye Na Balam" and "Babul Mora" besides a host of fresh melodies making Lagi Lagan a melodious and complete musical album.

Special Day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Received Priceless Gift from THE Goddess
Hey guys, im just speechless as for now, becoz it was an excellent day!!! Wana know why?? Haha, this might make some other Madhushree fans go green eye over me.... lol...
I received "Lagi Lagan" audio cd from Madhushree!!!! With her Signature which says " To Dinesh, With Lots Of Love Madhushree " ...... Wooooohooooooooooo!!! haha!!!!! i know, i might sound like a 10 y/o kid !!!! But there is no words to explained my feelings receiving this GIFT!!!
Getting the CD itself its a great experience...... Well it started of like this...
Yesterday at work, say about around 5Pm, i got a call from this 013 ..... number.... That guy asked for some name, which i was like " Huh???? Sorry wrong number" .... So i taut it was a prank call, which ive been getting alloot these few months thanks to some girls who have my number.... So i taut it was another 'play' from one of the girls.....
Then at about 9.45pm, i got the same call again, was half way sleeping, coz didint had a proper sleep the night b4 becoz had Exam yesterday morning, Legal System, which u need lotsa reading to understand each term. Ohh well, so in that sleepness, when he asked for some name.... it wasnt some name actually, it sounded like he is speaking in some weird language..... so sleepy+pisst off, i just hang the phone and went back to bed. i know, i can be rude at times....
Then this morning, Sat, 09/08/08, as usual my routine, every Sat morning its temple time with family, and again i got this 013 number calling numerous time when i was at temple praying, couldnt attend it becoz its against my policy to answer any calls when im at temple... Ofcource, i kept it in silent mode....
Then when i came back, saw this DHL notice on my gate, well, he slipt it inbetween the gate's sharp pole, and i saw its a delivery for "Dinesh Searam" .... I had a guess it could be from Madhushree, maybe a poster or something.... becoz only Madhushree calls me "Dinesh Searam, and not my real name Dinesh SCARAN... haha.... Guess the name SCARAN is weird and rare.... :P Then called the person to check it, he said its some document.... so i taut, ohh maybe from some overseas frens or from my University giving me warning letter or something... lol.... im not a crook in Uni, but yea, was afraid la... haha...
He came around 3.50pm.... and i went to collect it, then he asked me to sign and yeah, i got the parcel..... opened it, its from Madhushree, and to my surprise, it was the CD....!!!!!!!! i was too happy, i was like smiling all the way, and i controlled my happiness, coz sister was around. Didint wanna look like a clown doing those... haha....
What was funny, after getting the cd, i remembered about the 013 number.... so i called it up, and spoke to him, and he said he is the guy from DHL.... and i started laughing.. haha, he must think im a weirdo, well then he said " Ohh, saya sudah bagi you punya parcel kepada lelaki muda di rumah encik ye"
which means " Ohh, i already gave ur parcel to the young guy who was at ur home" ... and again i laughed, becoz he must have thought this "Dinesh Searam" is an old bald man... and not a 20 years old young guy..... haha....
Well i showed my sis, and she was like " cool !!!!! From Madhushree?? U Lucky guy!!!!" .....
I was too happy, it just made my day.... i wanted to share the cover with u guys, it took me 1 hour to repair my scanner... it took me loong time bcoz had to searched online the driver installer and such....
Ohh Well... here is the Cd Covers.... :D ... ohh yea, i never scan the lyric booklets which was attached in the CD cover itself yea, but ive scanned 2 inlay pages, 1 her message to her fans and another information about her. Here it is:

Ohhh btw, the songs r awesome..... u can really listen to what Madhushree has hid from us her talent, she can render the classical raag stuffs effortless.... and the Barsaan Lagi number is just toooooooooooo goooood!!! people..... PLEASE GET THE CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ohh yea, im a bit sad that as a loyal fan, i couldnt get the excitement of getting the audio copy myself.... but yea, i must admit, in Malaysia, to get India Artist's private album CD here in audio stores is impposible, unless i buy it online tru credit card, but hey, im only a middle class student with limited cash... haha.....
Thanks Madhushree, ur the Only Artist who appreciates her fan.... never seen other singers does anything like this....... esp sending audio cd, which has not hit the stores to a fan who is far away in Malaysia...... It just warms my heart thinking im soo glad im a fan of an excellent singer with a heart of Gold...... THANK YOU mam.... with my whole heart..... Singer Madhushree?s husband Robby has been behind her every step of the way in her journey to realise her dreams
Madhushree Bhattacharya has music in her genes. She came from a musical family and started learning the basics at a very young age under the guidance of her father, Amarendra Bhattacharya. After doing an MA in Indian classical music, she packed her bags and travelled to the other end of the world. In Surinam, South America, she began teaching at the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.
But after three years of teaching NRIs, she returned to India, determined to try her luck in Bollywood. Her big break came in Ahmed Khan?s Lakeer and since then, her careergraph has risen steadily. She was nominated in the best singer category for the song Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad... from Yuva for the Star Screen Awards. She also has an interesting line-up of films to look forward to this year. While much-awaited blockbusters like Kisna and The Rising are on the cards, other films where she?s lent her voice include Aarti, Kasak, Life Ho To Aisa and Seesha.
Madhushree met her husband Robby Badal while teaching music in Surinam. The romance continued and her decision to settle in Mumbai prompted Robby to give up his job and move with her. Robby, who?s a civil engineer, was born and brought up in South America. He too loves music and is presently supporting Madhushree in her dream to conquer Bollywood.

After completing my Masters in classical music from Calcutta, I got an offer to work at the Indian Council of Cultural Relations at Surinam, where my job as a teacher involved promoting awareness about Indian music and culture. It was there that I met Robby when he joined my class to learn classical Indian music.
He was a sincere student, maybe even too sincere. He always stayed back after the class and offered to help me. Since I was new to the country, he?d often offer me a ride home, help out with my shopping ? just simple friendly gestures to make me feel comfortable in his home country. Since the centre conducted a lot of cultural events, we landed up spending a lot of time together. And over a host of concerts, programmes, musical events and recordings, we became close.
Soon enough, Robby and I built up a great rapport and I started depending on him more and more. Over the three years that I was posted there, we fell in love and decided to spend our lives with each other. However, life had other plans as I shifted to Holland and then to Mumbai. It was in 1998, when I shifted to Mumbai that we decided to get married. Robby left his job and other business to support me in my dream of making it big in Bollywood.
My husband has been my biggest support. There was immense pressure from my parents when it came to my choice of career but Robby stuck by me. Mine is not a profession that is always looked upon favourably or even easy to accomplish. But it was my dream and Robby supported me wholeheartedly. He could have easily refused to leave his job and family business but yet, he stood by me. Now that I have come so far, all I have to thank is my husband?s undying support ? both emotionally and spiritually.
This is a field that can sap your spirit. The demands are many and expectations high so, for the same reason the person standing by you must be level-headed and strong. Robby is essentially a very down-to-earth person but if necessary can be aloof and curt. I think that?s essential as well. One needs to be tough and it is this quality of his that helps me cope with the ups and downs of life.

The very first time I saw Madhushree was when I entered the class at ICCR. There she was, dressed in a salwar-kameez with oil in hair. She was sitting at the edge of the seat, waiting for her students. When she started taking the class, we realised she had absolutely no experience. I liked her innocence and openness and that?s what attracted me.
Since we both share a love for music, we got along very well. When she moved to Mumbai to try her luck in Bollywood, we decided to get married. It?s a tough life here and I wanted to be by her side. It is our belief and understanding that keeps us together. We have immense trust in each other and are totally open about the relationship.
Madhushree is very grounded and simple, which is what I love about her. She keeps telling me that we mustn?t become snobbish and forget our roots. She?s the one person I can count on for a reality check whenever I need one.
The decision to leave everything and come to Mumbai was a difficult one. At the time, it seemed the right thing to do but now in retrospect, I feel scared that I made such a decision. After selling everything there, setting up home wasn?t easy. We spent a lot of our savings and money but now things are settled. Anyway, it was worth it as Madhushree?s dream of singing in Bollywood has come true, which was the reason we did everything. I am very proud of her and hope she continues to do bigger and better films.
